May I?

Hello All,

It is another new month and suddenly, the year is close to the halfway mark! I mean, many of us have barely said, 'happy new year' and already, the summer term is here! Some deadlines have been met ( I hope) and some have been forgotten; what's important today is not how much is undone, but how much how much has been done. It is not necessarily that the year is half gone, but rather, 'thank God' there's half a year left to tackle big tasks. Like they say, the cup could be half full or half empty. It is a question of perspective and choice. You can either choose to do it right and do the right thing or do the same old thing.
Whichever you choose, may you find in this month of May, the Might to do it right.

today's tip...

watch out for that selfish streak!

If you work in a people-friendly environment, don't be caught eating alone in the office. It could be interpreted in a number of ways, none of them complimentary.
If you bring your favourite chocolate cake to eat at lunch time, be sure there's enough for more than one person.
When making tea or coffee for yourself, offer to make for your colleague as well. He/she may not want it but you would have shown by your action that you were brought up to be considerate and thoughtful. As we say in this part of the world, "he who eats alone, dies alone".............to be continued

let's do the sharing right!

shalom.

Last but not least

My father may have started the month of April for me, but a special friend has just reminded him that he ended it.

Here's to you, Egwolo, you may have come last in April but you are by no means the least. Our lives are richer because you are in it. Happy birthday, brother. The cake will come, but you deserve more, much more.
In the words of the my fellow writer, everything good will come.

happy birthday friends!

My dear friends,

How has April been for you all? it's been a month of spiritual reawakening for me. I started a fortyday fast in in March and finished a few days ago. It was taxing and exhilarating at the same time. April is one of my favourite months for several reasons.
For one, it is the birth month of my late dearly beloved father (April 1). Every first of April, I celebrate, not, ALL FOOLS DAY, but the birthday of one of the wisest men I know. more on my daddy later.
The second reason why April is such a precious month to me is that it is the last truly dry month before the rains set in. I have never had much regard for wet and cold weather; (which is why I prefer Dubai to London). I am a sunny day child and every April I cling to the vanishing sun rays and try to soak up enough warmth to last me through the wet season.
So if you were born in April, you will understand that you share a special month indeed. And that is why this blog post is to wish all my April friends a happy new year ahead. I know your birthday has passed, but it is the beginning of a new year in your lives, and I will like you all to know that there is at least one person on earth who cares enough to mention you in prayer. It is my prayer that for the next one year you will experience:

Days of beauty
Days of grace
Days of laughter
Days of love
Days of Joy and
Days of plenty..

When men say, there is" a meltdown", you will say, "there is a lifting up".

There are many of you whose specific birthdays I do not know, but know that if you were born in April, I have and I am praying for you. Please log in and make a comment, let me know your birthday. I promise you a present, even if it comes in the form of a prayer. Here's to you

Mr Ofodile

MAY GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU ALWAYS
MAY YOUR WISHES ALL COME THROUGH
MAY YOU ALWAYS DO FOR OTHERS
AND LET OTHERS DO FOR YOU..............
....MAY YOU STAY, FOREVER YOUNG..

let's do it right!

At Long last

Hello my friends,

This blog is long overdue. I have been teaching and instructing on rules governing social and professional behavior for as long as I can remember. Even as a little girl, I was always picking on people's behavioral mistakes (which was quite annoying to everyone, especially as I was not exactly "Miss Perfect" myself)
As they say in my part of the world, 'with age comes wisdom' and I have learned to be more tolerant while still attempting to assist the willing to do it right when it comes to etiquette. On this blog we will be sharing tips and ideas on various aspects of life and living. Those little and often overlooked pieces that could very well be the difference between a standing ovation or an embarrassed laugh from an audience you are trying to impress.
Nothing on this blog is gospel; you do not have to accept it, or use it. So what, if you fall flat on your face sometimes? We all do. But if you find something useful here or you can recommend something to someone that helps, then you have truly made my day
